The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Fighters Table

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot including angels, fiends, and dark forces expanding in power within the city.

Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the main group to embark on their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.

That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.

At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear out of place, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.

Reasons to Leave

For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.

An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing started the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the secret base, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.

The traitor then settled his debts and fled to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.

Individual Reasons

Moreover, each member has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:

  • The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, desires vengeance.
  • The adventurer is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their position as important members in the powerful family could assist the group access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Furthermore, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.

Fugitives

Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The strong figure and The cleric defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
  • The fighter is wanted dead by the family.

This results in them few options but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.

What’s Next?

According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we learn that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Questers and Planners parties.

Fans can anticipate learning which players will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
